Every resident of Christa House is greeted with a spirit of
deep respect and welcome. This attitude of heart is fundamental
to the spirit of Christa House. We are committed to a loving
care and presence that rises on the faith foundation of our
home, a foundation that welcomes all and is open to the diversity
of religious expressions, life choices and cultures.
The expression and the importance of spirituality differ from
person to person. Whatever choices an individual makes, it is
respected and supported. Various spiritual leaders and community
members have blessed our residents and our home by their faith
presence. Pastoral support is always available both to the resident
and to significant others who visit in Christa House.
Bob with Father Tom Hartman
After a resident's death, pastoral support continues for the
Christa House Community and for the deceased's significant others.
On several evenings throughout the year, families and friends
are invited to come to Christa House for a gentle and prayerful
Evening of Remembrance with residents, volunteers and staff
present to remember and to pray.
In has been our experience that we become brother, sister, friend
to a resident who has no one. This inclusive spirit is at the
heart of the spirituality of the Christa House Community.
